Sydnee is the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion manager for OpenStax, an affiliate of Rice University.
Outside of her day job, she is a screenwriter and director, and founder of Black Ohio Film Group. She premiered In Our Bed at Gateway Film Center in Columbus, Ohio. She also has films Immunity and Borderline. Her focus in film is to provide representation for people of color, specifically in love, education, and mental health.
Jami Niane thrives as a risk taker, problem solver and cupcake connoisseur. She comes from a background of Operations & Project Management. Jami is really excited to help achieve our organizational goals & introduce Black filmmakers to other parts of the world, specifically Senegal, West Africa.
By connecting the children of the diaspora, she believes that we can exchange ideas, cultures and experiences; create pieces of art that’s only controlled by the people who made it. Currently, she provides freelance editing services, bakes and sells delicious cupcakes (Little Ol’ Cupcakes).
Bianca believes in the power of storytelling – the way it can show new perspectives, change mindsets and preserve the past. As life-long film lover, she’s excited to support local filmmakers and create her own. She has a background in digital product management, multimedia journalism, and philosophy.
