WE BEEN WORKIN’
We have been working to make BOFG the best it can be. We have a few key updates that we are so excited to share with you.
UPDATES
Our first update is the introduction of our programs. The most exciting program is DWEL – Discover, Watch, Enjoy Local. This program allows the community to see the work of local filmmakers and participate in a Q&A session with filmmakers. After we have found a way to navigate COVID-19 more permanently, DWEL events will take place at local theaters.

Our other two programs aren’t new but have had some adjustments. The education program now includes an opportunity for subject matter experts to curate webinars, workshops, or mini-courses.

Finally, our networking program remains the same but with a new name: Connectus.
Due to COVID-19, all events will be held virtually until further notice.
Our second update is that because we are doing this work – we need help. We would love for you or anyone you know to become part of our working board.
COMMUNITY
BOFG founder, Sydnee, had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Skinner Myers, the filmmaker behind The Sleeping Negro. This film focuses on the rage that lives within Black Americans – you’ll laugh, gasp, and say, “I know that’s right” while watching.
The Sleeping Negro is playing at Gateway Film Center in Columbus tonight at 4:40p.
