  • Is BOFG a non-profit organization?

    Yes, we are! Black Ohio Film Group is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and contributions are tax-deductible for income, gift, and estate taxes. Our EIN is 86-1828005.

  • I’m not a filmmaker, but I want to contribute.

    First of all, thank you! There are several ways you can contribute. You can be a BOFG Supporter – giving a monthly donation or a One-Time donor. You can also lend your expertise by becoming a Board Member! If you want to contribute some other way, contact us.

  • Can I hire a BOFG member for work?

    Yes, you can! More details on how to request a crew coming soon.

  • Do you have a building?

    Not yet, but we have plans to open a brick and mortar soon. To support a BOFG building please consider donating

Membership

  • How do I become a member?

    It’s easy, just click here! We have two membership types - Free and All-Access.

  • Who can be a member?

    Anyone who identifies as Black/African-American, Afro-Latino, mixed or having recent African heritage and has an interest in the filmmaking process.

    If you are representing a production company, theater, or film commission please consider a "Connections" membership (more details coming soon).

  • I’m not a writer or director, can I join?

    Absolutely. Anyone who plays a part in the production of film and television can join. Check out our profile types page to see all of the roles in film. Don’t see your role in “profile types”? Contact us.

  • I’m not a filmmaker, do you have a membership for me?

    Not yet. We eventually want to have “Watch Party” memberships that give you access to all the BOFG community films or shows.

  • I’m not Black, can I still join?

    Black Ohio Film Group seeks to center Black people and the variety of Black experiences. We appreciate your interest in wanting to join Black Ohio Film Group and would love to have a conversation about what that means for you.
